This informative 10 hour Pet First Aid Course is a must for everyone.  It is the longest standing Pet First Aid in Canada.  Animal lovers will earn a certificate through hands on practice in a fun filled atmosphere.

The course is administered across North America by Walks 'N' Wags of Vancouver and was originally developed in 1993 by Nurse Ethne Dickinson of Oakland Educational Services and her pet advisory group consisting of Veterinarians and others in Alberta's animal care industry. This is the only comprehensive pet first aid course available in Canada.

All classes are once a week for 1 hour.  We keep classes to a maximum 5 puppies. 

 

Please Note: Classes will be postponed on any stat holidays or the weekends of a stat holiday, and resume the following week.

 

 

Puppies 10 wks – 16 wks of age.

 

This class emphasizes the importance of proper socialization and good canine manners. We touch on sit, down, stand, loose leash walking and introduce “come”. We will also work on “leave it”, “drop it” and “wait”. There will be lots of fun and learning for the whole family.

 

Note: All puppies must have a minimum first set of vaccines for this class.

 

 

 

This class is designed for dogs 6 months and older or have completed Puppy Pre-school.

 

This class is focused on training your dog to be a well-behaved, enjoyable companion.  The following will be covered; coming when called, loose leash walking, "sit", "down", "stand", "stay", waiting at doors, greeting manners, "leave it", and grooming.  We will discuss common behavioural problems and how to solve them.  This class will give you and your dog a valuable opportunity to work on good manners and refining obedience skills in the presence of other dogs and people in a safe and positive environment.  Invite the whole family.

This class is for dogs that have graduated from Companion Dog I (or equivalence from another school). 

 

Come join us for the next step. We will challenge both you and your companion by proofing previously learned behaviours with fun distractions.  We will also learn new behaviours such as "stand" for exam, "down" at a distance, "finish", automatic "sit", "around finish", and lots of continuing work on loose leash walking.  We will also learn behaviours for every day living, such as "go to your mat".  This promises to be a fast paced fun class.

This class is for dogs that have graduated from Companion Dog II.

 

This class will truly test you and your dog's skills.  Our goal in this class is to take our existing behaviours and work off leash.  We will also introduce new behaviours such as down at a distance, moving sits, downs and stands, drop on recall and out of sight stays.  Sign up and challenge yourself and your dog.

This class is for dogs that can sit, down, stand and stay.

 

A fun, low-pressure companion dog sport for you and your dog to enjoy. This class will cover all exercises of CARO (Canadian Association of Rally Obedience) Novice Rally-O.  You and your dog will heel through a pre set course moving from station to station completing different exercises.  It's both fun and challenging for you and your dog.
