About Me
Liz Jones
I graduated with a diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services but my passion for animals lead me to continue my studies under renowned dog trainer/behaviour therapist Norma Jeanne Laurette. I have worked and trained dogs for over 12 years.
I have always loved animals. My childhood was spent with dogs and cats around the house and every summer I spent at Hoskin Stables grooming and riding horses. I'm currently training my dog Taiga in agility, dock diving, flyball and Rally-O.
For the last nine winters, I have worked in South River, Ontario, as a dog sled guide with
Chocpaw Expeditions. I lead overnight dog sled expeditions into the interior of Algonquin Park and was accountable for the safety, and well being of both clients and dogs in a wilderness setting. This meant managing all aspects of an expedition including feeding, watering and caring for 320 dogs. I maintain that the biggest challenge was remembering all 320 names!
Presently I work full time at the
Pet Hospital on Main St, in Uxbridge, as receptionist and vet assistant.
I am a firm believer in continuing education, and I try my best to attend as many seminars and conferences to keep myself as up to date and as current as possible.
I am currently Pet First Aid certified with Walks n Wags.
